L. Jackson Doyle


 

L.Jackson Doyle, an architectural artist, has felt compelled to draw and paint all of his life from an early age. He took numerous art classes throughout high school and continued into college. His artist talent lead him to an architectural degree from Virginia Tech in 1977 and a 45 year career as an architect in the Roanoke ,Salem and Smith Mountain Lake. Since retiring in 2020 he has returned to his love of free hand drawing and painting. His particular passions are buildings, landmarks and cityscapes. Pen and ink and watercolors are his favorite mediums, often combining the two.

Jackson’s love of travel can be found in his expressions of inspiration from places like Italy, historic cities like Savannah, GA and Charleston, SC as well as Yellowstone national park.
