Lisa Dabareiner

Lisa Dabareiner found her passion for art when she won her first art show at the age of seven.  Since then she has cultivated her artistic talent through infinite hours in the studio as well as formal education at some of the nation's premier art schools.

A native of New Jersey, Lisa studied at the renowned DuCret School of Art, New Jersey's oldest art institution, where she trained with notable American artists Furman Joseph Finck and Daniel Schroll.  She continued her education at the Art Students League in New York City.

Founded in 1875 by a group of artists, many of whom were women, the Art Sutdents League has been instrumental in defining America's legacy in fine art.  While there, Lisa studied with Austrian-born American artist Gustav Rehberger, internationally acclaimed as a "volcanic expressionist" and David Leffell, known for classical still life and portrait painting as well as teaching.  Lisa also studied privately with David Leffell and American artist, Joseph Dawley, who painted in the Old Master's style and Impressionism.

Although Lisa is schooled in all disciplines of fine art, oil is her preferred medium and Realism is her signature style.  The Realist movement, which emerged in France in the 1850's, sought to convey an unembellished, truthful depiction of nature and contemporary life.  A Realist painter draws a viewer into the scene, as if looking through a window.  It is this characteristic of Realism that is the hallmark of Lisa's work.
