Gilbert Stuart is widely considered to have been the top portrait painter of many political figures during the founding years of The United States.  James Madison from Virginia, one of “The Founding Fathers”, a close advisor to the first US President fellow Virginian George Washington, served as Secretary of State and Vice-President under fellow Virginian the third President Thomas Jefferson, and Madison was the 4th President of the US, and Madison was the author of the US Constitution and US Bill of Rights (First 10 Amendments to the US Constitution) and is widely considered to be one of the most important and credible leaders in US history.
